To quote my dear wife; "It's about time" !
We are on our way to Arizona first. We will be staying with friends Kaye has met through her bowling league. The secondary purpose of our trip is to go RV shopping. We have been doing research for over a year now. We know what we want, now it is time to pound the pavement and find it.
All of the jokes about the bad weather following me around like a puppy are all true. We had hoped that would all change once we hit the road and it did look good this morning. The sun was glorious while we waited for the Port Angeles ferry (out of Victoria) and stayed out for the full sailing.
However, once we hit the Olympic mountains on the USA side the rain started. By the time we got to Olympia (where we were planning on staying) the conditions were insane. So Kaye went to sleep and I drove in the insanity all the way to the South side of Portland.
Good news is that the sun came out 5 minutes from our hotel turnoff and they had a room at the inn. Kyle is not allowed in (darn) but he is used to sleeping in the truck. He can maybe learn to bark and turn into a guard dog (ya like that's going to happen).
Our new Magic Jack phone works like magic. Moms have been called, all is great. Fingers crossed for better driving weather tomorrow.
Too bad weather wise! Did you guys drive through Forks, Washington? (Google why that place is famous):) I'm happy you are finally taking the trip. I'll keep my eyes on your blog. Lots of love, L & J
