We are a retired couple who are travelling North America with our best friend Kyle (three legged Labrador Collie Cross). We love to explore, take pictures and babble to our friends and family

Day Six - Time to Move
The temperature has been rising so we decided to change hotels for Kyle. There are no Holiday Inns in Fresno that are pet friendly. So far that has not mattered as Kyle has the complete Mega Cab back seat of the truck converted into his personal living space plus there has been a nice breeze and lows overnight in the 50s. However, with the heat rising and a total lack of shade, he needs somewhere to escape to during the heat of the day while we are shopping for RV stuff.
We have moved to a Best Western ($70 Military rate). It is clean and tidy, no frills but does have a great WiFi connection, continental breakfast, outdoor pool and hot tub. Kyle costs an extra $20 per night. He is well worth it!
We called the front desk to ask for pool towels and I also asked what restrictions there were for Kyle. The clerk asked what kind of dog he was and explained that she had two chocolate labs. She asked us to bring him to the front office for a visit. When there, I asked if he could go into the pool area while we swam; "Better than that"; she said; "Take him in the pool, it is too cold out for locals to swim"!! So we did.
If Target converts our old Zellers stores to the style and layout of the store we visited today, then they will put a dent in WalMart sales. The store was very well laid out, huge wide open aisles and neat and tidy goods on the shelves. Tons of staff and quick check out.
In the same box store mall as Target was an antique tractor store. Right in the middle of a 500K pop city? And it was getting customers!
Dinner was a treat. We thought we were just going to a recommended Chinese joint but it turned out to be a wonderful Japanese grill house.
The chef tried to tell us it was only his second day on the job but when he started making 'Heart Burn Rice' and 'Volcano Fried Onions' we knew the jig was up.
Prawns, scallops, pacific lobster and steak with mushrooms, plus house special rice, onions with zucchini, bean sprouts and frozen yogourt desert.
Way too much food, huge doggy bags and some Kyle treats too.
